How to have control over people's opinion over your life.
Seeds germinate in the soil if the conditions are favorable. In life the seeds are the opinions from the people around us. When they find a favorable condition within our inner being, they impact our lives. We are all in this world together, and getting along is a good thing, but if you find that the comments of others do not match your self-knowledge, then dismiss it from your mind.
1: Have self-trust- When you believe that everyone else knows better than you do, then your self-trust is buried and weakened by your constant desire to receive external validation. Other people don’t live your life; you can only live it for yourself. You are worthy because you exist, but your self-doubt may be standing in the way of manifesting your gift.
2: Change the way you think- It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, but it is impossible to find it elsewhere. Regardless of the situation you face, your attitude is your choice. Remember, you can’t have a positive life with a negative attitude. Your choice on how to respond and react to events is something no one can take away from you. You are at liberty to choose your attitude in any given circumstance.
3: Fire the culprits- Be careful and examine the validity of judgment or opinion. You are at liberty to carry on with their opinion or to kick them out of your life. Seek out your own kind for mutual support and growth.
4:Find your look alike - When people don't understand what you do or why you do them, you won’t gain self-worth by trying to convince them. Being around people who share your visions and goals is tremendously more helpful than trying to change those who have the opposite agenda of yours. 5: Be mindful in response- When you encounter someone with a negative attitude, it is advisable not to respond back to them by throwing insults. Keep your dignity and don’t lower yourself to their level. Responding mindfully will make you feel that you have handled things with lots of integrity. The bottom line is, true strength is being bold enough to walk away with your head held high. 6: Set limits and distance yourself- Possible way of setting limits and distancing yourself from a negative opinion is by taking a break and walking away or better enough if someone complains about you then ask them how they intend to fix the problem they are complaining about. This will either make them quiet down or redirect the conversation in a more positive way.
7: Concentrate on the present- Holding on to anger and to our past experience, shame, pain and regrets is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. More often, we carry around with us things from our past that hurt us and prevent us from moving on and most probably rob us off our present happiness. It is unfortunate that the past can’t be changed, but you can do something to better your future. Although they live in your mind, you can decide that negative experiences from your past will not predict your future.
8: Share it out- More often we keep a lot of our worries to ourselves which is not healthy, bring the troubling thought out in the open by telling a close friend about how you feel. When you do that you will definitely feel relieved. Remember a problem shared is a problem solved. Keeping it to yourself can be a bad idea.
9: Go Your Own Way- Act independently against contradictive advice. You could spend your whole life trying to meet other people’s standards. But that’s not a strategy for a fulfilling life, don’t get sucked into others opinion, no matter how convincing it might sound. Honor your authentic values.
10: Get to know yourself- When you know yourself, you understand what motivates you to resist bad habits and develop good ones. Hang out with your own kind, and put others’ opinions in perspective. Then is when you'll have the insight to know which values and goals activate your willpower.
In conclusion when you flow with your strengths, courage, confidence and the willingness to believe in your own self, you gain greater work satisfaction and become invincible in your character.
